The museum album

This album presents the National Museum of Prehistory in Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, France.

The Vézère valley has a very strong prehistorical past: it is the place where the first sites were discovered. It is also where Denis Peyrony created the National Museum of Prehistory in 1913 and thereby made Eyzies-de-Tayac the French “capital of prehistory”.

Over the years, the collections were enriched by age-old masterpieces. This album guides us through the museum’s history and shows us its most fabulous treasures. Presenting the reader decorated tools and sculpted animals, it offers a wide-ranged survey on the world of our ancesters, and brings back to the sources of art and consciousness, inviting each reader to discover and remember.
